Sales Engineer

Objective To win orders on a profitable basis based on bid submission and to promote the Company, its products and services to existing and potential customers in the UK according to the Company Procedures, Quality Manual and in support of the Business Plan.

Specific
- Provide potential customers with timely, well presented bids in accordance with Company Procedures relating to technical and commercial criteria.
- As far as possible the customer requirements shall have priority, but not in cases where they conflict with Paladon technical or commercial interests. All deviations shall be explicitly detailed in the bid submission.
- Ensure that all documentation issued by the Company is of an appropriate standard and that all commitments made are within the scope of your authority.
- Close liaison with all sales staff including Sales Managers in the UK and overseas.
- Close liaison with the Contract and Engineering Departments.
- Evaluation of enquiries upon receipt.
- Liaison with potential and existing customers by appropriate communication means, be it telephone, email, fax etc and to record full details of all communication for future and third party reference.
- Negotiation with clients prior to order placement including detailed agreement of strategy.
- Evaluation of orders received which require Paladon engineering input.
- Liaise as required with staff to ensure internal communication breakdown does not lead to performance difficulties.

Service & Workshop Technician
Department Service
Overview To assemble, inspect and test valve actuators and control systems. To carry out site visits to Oil & Gas installations throughout the UK, the North Sea; and occasionally internationally. It is expected that the successful candidate will spend 70% of their time in the Brixworth assembly and testing facility, and the remaining time conducting site visits. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, and be willing to work away from home. The majority of work will be outdoors, and offshore work will require travel by helicopter. A driving licence and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems experience is required; and experience with electrical circuits preferred. A mobile company phone will be provided, and the use of company vehiceles during site visits.

Specific
- Responsible for ensuring that assembly, inspection and testing activities are carried out in accordance with the Company Procedures and Quality Manual.
- Responsible for maintaining work area with particular attention paid to maintaining a clean, safe and tidy workshop environment in order to comply with the Company Health and Safety Statement.
- Assembly, test and maintenance of workshop equipment.
- Assembly and testing of products manufactured by Paladon Systems, or associated companies.
- Work away from home as required on both mainland and offshore.
- Inspect equipment manufactured for Paladon Systems by outside contractors/suppliers both at Goods Inwards or providers works.
- Loading and unloading of completed assemblies and goods received utilizing forklift truck when required.
- Drive the Company vehicles for collection and delivery of goods.
- Liaise with Brixworth as required to ensure internal communication breakdown does not lead to performance difficulties.
- Packing of goods ready for dispatch.
- In process and final inspection of complete and part assemblies built by other technicians or self.
- Keep and maintain build records (job cards) and record test results on applicable certificates.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the physical stock held by the Company in terms of quantity recorded present.
